ALAN CHARLESWORTH:
CONTACT DETAILS

I welcome any contact with regard to the contents of this website - to do so, use this email address:

email@alancharlesworth.eu

This is my personal email address, not that of the university where I work - if you are [or have been] one of my students then you will know my .ac.uk address - feel free to use it.

As a footnote: if you are whingeing that I haven't made the email address above a link, and you've got to type - or cut-and-paste - it into your own email browser, here's the reason.

Those ne'er-do-wells out there who collect email addresses for spamming purposes do so by sending out 'email harvesters'. These devilish little web spiders can detect any email addresses that are written as a hyper-link on a web page [ie so that users can click on them to open an email browser]. Many, however, cannot read an email address written as plain text as I have done above. And for those spiders that can identify plain-text emails, you can go a step further by showing your email as

email at alancharlesworth dot eu

Of course, you have to trust that folk know how to make that series of words into an email address - which should be the case on an e-marketing site such as this one, but might not be the case on a site that targets less-experienced web users.
