Those ne'er-do-wells out there
who collect email addresses for spamming purposes do so by sending out 'email harvesters'. These devilish
little web spiders can detect any email addresses that are written as a hyper-link on a web page [ie so that
users can click on them to open an email browser]. Many, however, cannot read an email address written as
plain text as I have done above. And for those spiders that can identify plain-text emails, you can go a step further by
showing your email as
Of course, you have to trust that folk know how to make that series of words into an email address - which should be the case on an e-marketing site such as this one, but might not be the case on a site that targets less-experienced web users.
